Thank you for clarifying an issue in question that the press seems incapable or unwilling to express.

At some point in our lives Congress will decide to be part of the government ( as in doing its job vs simply running for office and deferring almost all other functions to the Executive or waiting for SCOTUS.

Congress hasn’t declared war since Pearl Harbor, it hasn’t actually passed a budget other than last sec omnibus bills in a quarter of a century, it hasn’t legislated bills ( except for vague bromides with instructions that “ the Secretary shall determine the best way to implement “) nor has it tried real oversight of the Executive branch in 30-40 years.. just political hit jobs and faux impeachment hearings.

Having to hear them whine that they are not being “consulted” or are not being respected is such a crock.

Stop being partisan cheerleaders when your party has POTUS and obstructive blowhards when out of power.

There was a time when Senators bucked their “leader” or joined the opposition parties POTUS .. those days are long gone.

First heal they selves… then I might listen to.

It is somewhat telling that, despite the history that Marina Medvin has so succinctly listed, this appears to become irrelevant, at least on the internet, as there are JEWS and ISRAEL involved. I might understand this opinion against Israel from Islamic fundamentalists in Michigan, but the onslaught of comments from the spectrum from MAGA to AOC supporters is overwhelming.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Ship. I didn’t realize this Authorization had endured, and specifically applies to Iran for its Operation Ongoing Terror.

Shipwreck, any reason why the War Powers Act has not been brought up? It seems that POTUS can start something and simply needs to let Congress know no longer than 48 hours after hostilities start. That is my simple reading of the act. What am I missing?

We committed the original sin with Iran. We overthrew their government in 1953 and installed our puppet. It took them twenty years to overthrow our our puppet. Hostages were taken. Diplomacy could have settled things, but we don't do diplomacy.

Iran could easily drop a dirty bomb on Jerusalem. They don't need advanced nukes. Their crap missiles can get through the defenses.

Their best ones will have no problem. They could have, at any time in the last few years dropped a dirty bomb on Jerusalem. A huge chunk of Real Estate across the region would be uninhabitable for ten thousand years.

They could have easily bought a high quality nuke from Pakistan or elsewhere.

Why haven't they? Israel occupies some of the Holiest sites of their religion. They can't nuke Israel without destroying their own Holy Lands.

I'm more afraid of Lindsey Graham than I am of all the "terrorists" in all the middle east.

The Lunacy from the MSM and many in Congress is as palatable as the COVID Rabid BS. Much to their dismay the Commander in Chief is well within his Constitutional and Legal bounds. At least for another 60 days.
