The text of the statute is not as controversial as the name suggests, and Democrat state leaders have brought it on themselves with their acceptance of chaos and rioting as political expression.
I would add, the call by the President of Mexico for continued resistance by those that are here in violation of Federal law is another layer of Invasion and now insurrection.
It is always a pleasure to read the explanations that you provide on issues that, to many of us, are not as clear-cut or easily understood as they might be. You are providing a Public Service, Ship! Thanks.
I've been a critic of Trump being too slow to act, but now I want him to hold back until all the sanctuary cities and states are on fire. I want democrat voters to feel the fear of being burnt out by their invading heroes.
This should get interesting. Will a judge in California support Newsom’s view? I expect so. Will be fun to watch. Not so fun if I lived in LA. Thanks, Shipwreckedcrew.
It will be appealed, perhaps a grant of certiorari due to its nature. SCOTUS will decide in the Commander in Chief’s favor. President Eisenhower called the Guard to (a state) to enforce Brown v. Board entrance of black children to schools. This occurred under Johnson later for admission of students to a college in the South. I believe the salient point is that there is precedent and inaction would be denying some citizens their civil rights.
How is this situation different than the violence which occurred in 2020? For instance, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota stood by while Minneapolis burned and his wife left her windows opened so she could smell the smoke from the fires. Was Trump hamstrung in some way then?
Democrats would willingly “open the windows and smell the smoke” as the country is torn apart as long as they get to build back in their image.

Agree with this.

Yes, always have to hear your viewpoints!
They will not follow the law as it benefits all citizens.
If a guy dressed like a Viking is an "insurrection", so is a violent mob attacking federal law enforcement.
