The situation, writ large, is an abomination. It makes me ill. This isn’t progress—it’s parody. A high school boy dominating girls’ softball doesn’t prove inclusion. It proves we’ve lost the plot.

Girls fought hard for a fair playing field. Letting boys onto their teams undercuts everything Title IX was meant to protect.

Far too true.I find it amazing that there are those who feel this is “fair”. Much like the racism we have been fighting for decades. I hope it doesn’t last long.

I surely don’t know of a good solution to this aberration, but if all of the opposing teams simply forfeited any games where this boy was pitching against them, it might be enough to eventually change the system back to reality.

Possibly. I don’t think it should take that.

Ship, the ONLY way I see to end this madness is if the opposing teams ALWAYS forfeit to these scams by taking the field and… sitting down.

Sit down until the game is called, until the fans have left. Be the last ones out.

Kind of crazy how the parent of that kid would allow him to play, not to mention the league and schools. Next year, every highschool will need a male starting pitcher just to compete.

Every girl on the opposing team(s) should refuse to play and every girl on his team should refuse to play. How else to end this madness?

The degradation of America's mores is deeply disappointing. The continued coarseness of key aspects of our culture is a harbinger of difficult times ahead. I am unable to understand how a minute percentage of the population who exhibit a mental illness or abnormal social variant of one form or another have been able to achieve approval from so many in our country and in our Institutions.

Great article. You nailed it with all the facts. Question how did he fare batting? Was his batting average substantially higher than the girls’ batting averages?

Boycott all games he plays in.

Isolate the coach and team and refuse to compete with them

They are pariahs and should be treated as such

The nonsense will not end so long as they can play one game.

Vote out the idiots who think this is ok

This story makes me furious. At some point opposing players, parents and coaches are going to have to refuse to play these corrupted teams that field boys in girls sports. Don’t be nice about it. Publicly excoriate the opposing teams, coaches and parents that field the boys. And start collective opposition and bringing Title 9 actions to put an end to it.

Where are the damn adults to protect these girls

The adults should be shutting this down

The coaches are losers for allowing this to happen

It’s not going to stop until adults step up to the plate and say enough is enough

For now, start with the high school athletic association - put the pressure on those cowards first

I would sue the school have a boy play on the girls' softball team and essentially saying they are cheating by having the boy play on a girls' team. Parents and players should boycott and sue schools and places that allow boys/men to compete in women's sports. It is unfair to the girls/women playing the sports.

Great article but … One problem with this analysis is that in women’s fast pitch it is common to see a team with a dominant starting pitcher. The NCAA college World Series often has a pitcher win both ends of a doubleheader ( with complete game shutouts)

My fear is in a stat war he might not stand out. Fast pitch is an anomaly here. A pitcher is the key to the sport and most really dominant teams have one.

Yes he is dominant but unlike other sports his dominance might not be clear cut.

The fact remains he is a he. Good, bad, great or mediocre he is not eligible to play a womens sport. The fact that this gender sports nonsense only goes one way … men in women’s sports.. demonstrates the fallacy that it is about opportunity to compete and inclusion. He can play baseball. He just wont be the star.

His games should be boycotted.
