Unless and until every single female athlete overtly refuses to play against these teams with one or more male players (by sitting down, walking off), this cheating madness will continue.

Given the slow pace of political change at most states’ legislatures, governors offices and critically at school boards, meaningful and timely change will require the girl athletes themselves, their parents, coaches and team followers to withdraw from any and all competition involving a team that fields young men as girl athletes. That should be accompanied by protests at those athletic contests.

THIS!

This is a fight that can only be won by the women(girls too but you know what I mean) athletes. Some are already in the fray but it has to be overwhelming. I have a female cousin with granddaughters who foams at the mouth because some sensible people are still unjabbed but when somebody talks about THIS she disdainfully sniffs and says, “who cares about hobbies.”

Normals care, that’s who.

I'm so old that anyone trying this crap would have been drowned in an unflushed toilet bowl, if he was lucky. Back then, he wouldn't have survived a week dressing as a girl. Yes we were barbaric savages brimming with toxic masculinity. Something we need to bring back.

Make that girl team play the championship boys team and see how they like it.

Pointing out the reality of XY chromosomes is not cruel. Agree wholeheartedly w/ other commenters that the only way to stop this farce is to forfeit every girls' game in which an XY chromosome is playing. I know - It's not fair to the girls who want to win if they can, but there is a much larger principle to be made than merely who wins the game.

I hope that your daughters never have to confront this abominable distortion of sport, but if they do, at least they'll have you defending them.

Sadly, every word of Bill’s post is true and from the heart. Also true, and equally sadly is that this will not be fixed until the girls stand up to this idiocy and refuse to participate. It is very unfortunate that many will spend 10 years playing the game of their choice and then have to forfeit in order to overcome this lunacy.

This is infuriating. But what amazes me is that so many dads and moms just stand there and let it happen.

Perhaps you can explain the lack of a sit-down strike when this kind of thing happens.

With the cooperation of the parents, if I was the coach I would demonstrate the farce by having all my players go up to bat and not swing at a single pitch. I would have the final pitching line be 21 outs via strikeout -- without a single batter attempting to hit a ball thrown by a boy.

I don’t think that would work. If girls are having to make the decision to sit down every time they’re at bat someone would break. Or the boy would pitch some easy hits when he figures out what’s up, which would be nearly impossible to not swing at for a girl with a competitive spirit and a dream. Forfeiting is the only way.
