First guilty pleas that are likely to result in multi-year prison terms
Today was the first time that January 6th protest case defendants pled guilty to felony charges involving violent assaults on law enforcement during the January 6th protests at the Capitol.
Defendants Devlyn Thompson and Scott Fairlamb pled guilty to felonies which included one count each of violating 18 U.S.C. Sec. 111(a)(1). That statute reads:
