In Zadvydas v. Davis the Supreme Court held in 2001 that when the date of removal is not “reasonably foreseeable”, continued detention of an alien subject to removal was unconstitutional.

Why if you are an illegal alien would it be considered unconstitutional for continued detention if they are not a US Citizen? It seems funny that this seems like the left's plan to try and keep other illegal aliens subject to removal here. I also think it is ironic that they would think continued detention of an illegal alien was unconstitutional but not one judge said that about the US Citizens who were denied their basic rights when they were held indefinitely in these prisons and reps could not enter to see them to check on their conditions.
