The California DMV Gave A Commercial Driver's License To An Illegal Alien -- And Three Florida Residents Are Dead As A Result.
Gavin Newsom's California uses Drivers' Licenses to register illegal aliens as state residents -- why would state workers see a Truck Driver's License differently?
The image above is a screen shot from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) website with the instructions and links for obtaining a “Commercial Leaner’s Permit” followed by a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
The video from which the image below was taken has been widely shown on social media. On August 12, 2025, an illegal immigrant from India, possessing a California-issued CDL, attempted to make an U-turn in an 18-wheel tractor-trailer using an “Official Use Only” gap in a turnpike median.
During the process of making the turn, the truck’s trailer blocked both northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike. Many parts of the Turnpike in this area have a posted speed limit of 70 mph. A minivan with three occupants slammed into the trailer as sat across both lanes of travel. All three occupants in the minivan were killed.
The driver, Harjinder Singh, illegally crossed into the United States from Mexico in September 20, 2018, at the San Ysidro border crossing near San Diego. He was arrested on September 22, 2018, and processed by the Trump Administration for “expedited removal.” During that process he sought asylum in the U.S. to prevent his removal to India, a “credible fear” determination was made by an immigration officer, and Singh was released on $5000 bond pursuant thereto and given a date to appear in Immigration Court.
On July 23, 2024, Singh was given a CDL by the California DMV. California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office clearly sees the danger for his political prospects in this story, and has tried to obfuscate and confuse the issue by making it seem that “Employment Authorization” given by Customs & Border Protection was the lawful justification for issuing Singh a CDL.
